One of our specialist areas is working with LGBT+ clients. This page explains how.
One of our areas of expertise is investment portfolios that comply with the social and ethical preferences of LGBT+ people.
We use data from the LGBT Equality Index to screen out countries that have poor LGBT+ laws and/or social acceptance from portfolios. And, we can use resources such as Goods Unite Us, which tell us the political leanings of big American companies.
Because different people have different views, the type and degree of screening is different for every client. For example, some countries can be progressive on same-sex relationships but regressive on transgender rights, and vice-versa. Countries such as Japan, with its controversial positions on same-sex marriage and trans rights, could be acceptable to some but not to others.
By screening out economies and/or individual companies with poor LGBT+ laws and/or social acceptance, as you can sleep soundly at night knowing that your money is where you're valued.
Our LGBT+ friendly portfolios are available in pensions, stocks & shares ISAs, investment bonds, and general investment accounts (GIAs).
Capital at risk. Investments can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invested, Past performance is not necessarily a reliable guide to the future.
When investing charity cash to make your money go further and help more people over the longer term, it's important to consider the strategy used is consistent with the goals of the charity.
Many standard portfolios invest in economies such as the Middle East, which have very poor track records for LGBT+ rights and acceptance, and some Trustees would rather not invest donor money here.
Roseum Financial Planning can help you ensure you're only investing in companies and economies which value LGBT+ rights and social acceptance.
